Summer Wars memory verses

I like a lot of verses, but these are 15 verses that I have to memorize for church. We're doing this thing called "Summer Wars" and if you memorize the verses you get points. So far, I only need to memorize 6 more verses. Some of the verses come easily to me because when I was in elementary school, we memorized a lot of these for Missionettes.

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-

John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.

Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

1 Timothy 4:12
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

Romans 3:23
...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Matthew 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

My old Facebook quotes!

So these are my old quotes that I had on my facebook since 8th grade... yeaahh I need to change them. SO I am going to be adding more as I go and when I get bored with them, I'll delete them off there and put them here.
Just so ya know, there is going to be a new post on my other blog, but I never finished writing it because I had to go to bed because I was getting tired. But I haven't forgotten... it's just sitting in my drafts. :P

MY NEW FAVORITE SONG! ;)

So so powerful! This has so much meaning into it. Check it!
What do I know of Holy ~Addison Road
I made You promises a thousand times
I tried to hear from Heaven
But I talked the whole time
I think I made You too small
I never feared You at all No
If You touched my face would I know You?
Looked into my eyes could I behold You?

(CHORUS)
What do I know of You
Who spoke me into motion?
Where have I even stood
But the shore along Your ocean?
Are You fire? Are You fury?
Are You sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?

I guess I thought that I had figured You out
I knew all the stories and I learned to talk about
How You were mighty to save
Those were only empty words on a page
Then I caught a glimpse of who You might be
The slightest hint of You brought me down to my knees

(CHORUS)
What do I know of You
Who spoke me into motion?
Where have I even stood
But the shore along Your ocean?
Are You fire? Are You fury?
Are You sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?

(CHORUS 2)
What do I know of Holy?
What do I know of wounds that will heal my shame?
And a God who gave life "its" name?
What do I know of Holy?
Of the One who the angels praise?
All creation knows Your name
On earth and heaven above
What do I know of this love?

(CHORUS)
What do I know of You
Who spoke me into motion?
Where have I even stood
But the shore along Your ocean?
Are You fire? Are You fury?
Are You sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?

What do I know of Holy?
What do I know of Holy?

What do I know of Holy? comments from mee :)

My favorite parts:
The first two lines... and:
"If you touched my face, would I know you?
Looked into my eyes, could I behold you?...
Then I caught a glimpse of who you might be.
The slightest hint of you brought me down to my knees"
Something that also stood out was the second verse because it is so true how we can be Christian and not really know who God is!

Superhero Declaration!

Need encouragement?

This is something I hang on the back of my bedroom door. It's good stuff.

I am part of the people who are unashamed.

I have the Holy Spirit of the Living God.

The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line.

The decision has been made. I am a superhero.

I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away or stay still.

My past is redeemed. My present makes sense. My future is secure.

I'm finished with low living, sight walking, & tamed dreams.

I'm done with small planning, smooth knees, colorless visions, & mundane words.

I no longer need position, promotion, or popularity.

I don't have to be regarded, recognized, or rewarded.

I now live by faith.

My face is set. My pace is fast. My mission is clear. My goal is heaven.

I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed.

With God's help, I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice.

Hesitate in the presence of the adversary.

Negotiate at the table of the enemy.

Ponder at the pool of popularity.

Meander at the maze of mediocrity.

I won't give up, shut up, or let up.

Until I have stayed up stored up, prayed up, paid up and preached up for the cause of Christ.

I am a Superhero for Jesus.

I must go until He comes, Give until I drop, Work until He stops me, Preach all I know,

Love and love and love and love and love and love.

And when He comes, He will have no problem recognizing me.

My logo will be clear.

And by the Almighty grace of and even Mightier God.

I will not be guilty of mediocre service to my Superhero - Jesus.

So what do you think? I got it from a sunday school I visited at my church.
Here's what I think:
Whenever we get into trouble we're always so upset and just calling out for God. There's nothing wrong with calling out for God because he has so much power! But as a Christian, God is in our hearts and in our lives right? (nods head yes) But when we get into sticky situations, it can be easy to blame God especially when we aren't getting anywhere. But if we're being held down, we have the authority to say, "In the name of Jesus, be gone!" You see God said (in Joshua 1:5), "... I will never leave you nor forsake you." And also in Philippians 4:13 it says, "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." So you have the power because we serve an Almighty God! There are going to be hard times, everyone goes through it. But next time you're stuck, don't look at all the things that are wrong, look at how big and mighty God is! If you serve him, then those problems aren't very mountainous, in fact it's like a grain of sand.

Glory to God,

Verse Disection...

So I want to know how you relate this to your life. Is it related at all? Opinions matter! Truly what is your opinion? Disect this verse and discuss it-

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
~Hebrews 11:6

How do you earnestly seek God? Do you earnestly seek him, I mean earnestly?
Be honest! :)

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

"For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again."
- 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

What comes to your mind when you read this verse?
How can this affect your life?

Talk it out!

In the Garden

Dedicated to my friend. <3

This is an old hymn. It's simply wonderful. I would like to dedicate it to my dearest sister, friend. If she ever reads this I want to let her know that she IS a gem, a precious flower, a rose, and that I miss her very very much! I know that someone else gave her the song. <3 love ="])

In the Garden

Verse 1:

I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses. And the voice I hear, falling on my ear,the Son of God discloses.

Chorus:And He walks with me,and He talks with me,and He tells me I am His own; and the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.

Verse 2:He speaks and the sound of His voice,is so sweet the birds hush their singing, and the melody that He gave to me within my heart is ringing.

Chorus

Verse 3:I'd stay in the garden with Him though the night around me be falling, but He bids me go; through the voice of woe His voice to me is calling.

Chorus

You are wonderful, and a precious rose. I just gave you a hug. Much love from my house to yours. My heart to yours sister.

I Will Go by Starfield

I Will Go
-Starfield
"To the desperate eyes and reaching hands
To the suffering and the lean
To the ones the world has cast aside
Where you want me I will be.

I will go, I will go, I will go,
Lord send me.
To world, to the lost, to the poor and hungry.
Take everything I am, I'm clay within your hands.
I will go, I will go, send me.

Let me not be blind with privilege.
Give me eyes to see the pain.
Let the blessing you've poured out on me,
not be spent on me in vain.
Let this life be used for change.

I will go, I will go, I will go,
Lord send me.
To the world, to the lost, to the poor and hungry.
Take everything I am, I'm clay within your hands.
I will go, I will go, send me.

I wanna live for you, go where you lead me.
I wanna follow you.
I wanna live for you, go where you lead me.
I wanna follow you.
I wanna live for you, go where you lead me.
I wanna follow you.

I will go, I will go, I will go,
Lord send me.
To the world, to the lost, to the poor and hungry.
Take everything I am, I'm clay within your hands.
I will go, I will go, send me.

Send me.
Send me.
Send me.
Send me."

I find this a huge inspiration. Now we should put into practice, and help those in need and share God's blessing to show his marvelousness.

Hebrews 1:3

“The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”- Hebrews 1:3

Life, love, learning

Changed

by Gabrielle

Sometimes life just spins around me.
I have no clue on where I am going.
It becomes a blur of everything.
Stress, life, clueless...
That used to be me.

But now I changed, you see.
I act quite differently.
I used to be afraid of things.
I used to stress out quickly.
But, that only used to be me.

My life made a change when
my Savior above
shined his love on me.
He came down to earth,
died for MY sins.
For my life.

Now when I have a difficult task,
I run to him and I ask for help.
He quiets my soul, and leads me,
every step of the way.
I have patience to survive.
For in him, I truly am alive.
Just because he loved me.

How He Loves Us!

"He is jealous for me.
Loves like a hurricane,
I am a tree,
bending beneath, the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden, I am unaware of these afflictions
eclipsed by glory.
And I realize just how beautiful you are,
and how great your affections are for me.
Oh, how he loves us so,
Oh, how he loves us,
how he loves us so.
He is jealous for me.
Loves like a hurricane,
I am a tree,
bending beneath, the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden, I am unaware of these afflictions
eclipsed by glory.
And I realize just how beautiful you are,
and how great your affections are for me.
And
Oh, how he loves us so
Oh, how he loves us
How he loves us so!
Yeah he loves us!
Whoah how he loves us!
Whoah how he loves us!
Whoah how he loves us so!
We are his portion, and he is our prize.
Drawn to redemption by the
grace in his eyes.
If grace is an ocean,
We're all sinking.
So heaven meets earth
like a sloppy wet kiss and
my heart turns violently
inside of my chest.
I don't have time to maintain these regrets when I think about
the way!
He loves us! Ohh how he loves us...."
This song is by John Mark Mcmillan. In this YouTube video- ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Chx6s3qXKt4 ) This song is actually for his friend, but John Mark Mcmillan says that he sings it like a worship song. Look at it both ways.
1. Worship song
2. Song for a friend who just died.
You really have to watch the video before you think of this. This won't make sense until you watch it. The video isn't the whole song, but it shows the part where he's talking about this song. This song is so overwhelming. No matter who sings it. Even the worst voice in the world, it's still beautiful.

You Won't Relent

This song may be short, but singing it show that we do have to give our whole selves to God. This song was actually taken from-
Song of Solomon 8:6-7
It says:

" 6 Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame.
7 Many waters cannot quench love;rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned."

Wow! This is the NIV text, but if you go to that verse and look at it from other contexts, it either makes more sense, or becomes more powerful. (http://www.biblegateway.com/)

This is the song-

You Won't Relent
By Misty Edwards

You won't relent until You have it all.
My heart is Yours.
I'll set You as a seal upon my heart.
As a seal upon my arm.
For there is love that is as strong as death.
Jealousy demanding as the grave.
Many waters cannot quench this love.
Come be the fire inside of me.
Come be the flame upon my heart.
Come be the fire inside of me,
Until You and I are one.
